Here’s what one owner of the Logitech Squeezebox Touch has to say:

A. Altman,

The Logitech Touch is amazing! It’s my first Squeezebox – my first attempt, really, to do audio outside of just using iTunes or plugging headphones into a stereo, which is fun and sounds OK – but not nearly as much fun or as great sounding as the Logitech Touch.

If you are at all debating getting a digital music player to connect to your home stereo, you can stop reading. Just buy this thing. It’s amazing. It’s not perfect. But for me and others I know, it changed my life in regards to having music at home.

I’m giving it 5 stars. It is a fantastic product; mostly easy to configure, sounds awesome, sounds even better with an external DAC, and downright life-changing when it comes to home entertainment. I’m tempted to deduct a star because of a couple, small buggy aspects, but I just can’t do it.

You have three options for listening to music with your Touch:

1. Connect to the squeezebox server that runs on your PC or Mac to have access to internet content (Slacker, Rhapsody, Pandora etc.) and your own music file (such as iTunes libraries). This requires that your PC be on and running the squeezebox server service.

2. Establish a free account on squeezebox.com and have access to internet content (Slacker, Rhapsody, Pandora etc.) but not your own music files. Your computer doesn't need to be running but you need to be connected to the internet via wired or wireless.

3. The Touch also has the ability to play local media by using a USB drive or SD card plugged into the unit itself.
